Who we are
Rifugio Venues is a venue matchmaking service operated from Treviso, Italy. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the personal data described here.
What we collect
When you complete the venue quiz, book a call or contact us, we collect your name, email address, and the answers you give us about your wedding — date, guest count, budget range, preferences and the country your guests travel from. We collect nothing else, and we never ask for payment details through this website.
Like most websites we record anonymous usage statistics. If analytics are enabled, they are configured to anonymise IP addresses.
Why we use it
To produce and send your match report, to prepare for a call you have booked, and — only if you ticked the box — to send you occasional venue notes by email. That consent is the legal basis for marketing email; performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry is the basis for the rest.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the service providers who make the site work: our email provider, our form processor, our booking tool and our hosting provider. We never sell your data, and we never pass your details to a venue without asking you first.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data for 24 months from your last contact with us; marketing subscribers until you unsubscribe. Wedding dates are, by nature, in the future — we keep enquiries long enough to be useful and then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to it, at any time, by emailing us. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You also have the right to complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Cookies and consent
No analytics or advertising cookie is set until you accept one. The tracking code is not merely dormant on this site — it is held in an inert template and is never requested from any third party unless and until you opt in. Refusing costs you nothing: every page, the quiz, the calculator and the booking form all work identically either way.
Strictly necessary storage does run without consent, because it is what you asked for: your chosen language, your currency preference, and your quiz answers so a reload doesn't lose them. All of it lives in your own browser and none of it is transmitted to us on its own.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.
Fonts and third parties
Typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from Google Fonts, so your IP address is not disclosed to a third country in order to render this page. The only third-party services that can receive data are the ones you actively use: our booking scheduler when you open it, and our form processor when you submit a form.
